Peak Lab Rescue and Petco Foundation Team Up to Recruit Lifesaving Foster Families at Petco Holly Springs!
This Saturday Peak Lab Rescue and the Petco Foundation are inviting the public to learn more about the lifesaving impact of fostering dogs. Peak Lab Rescue, the largest foster-based dog rescue in the state, saves Labs and Lab mixes from abuse, neglect, abandonment and high-kill shelters throughout North Carolina. In 2017, Peak Lab Rescue saved more than 850 dogs.
The summer months are a busy time for animal welfare organizations. There is often an increase in animal intake and demand for services. Many of these animals are simply in need of a place to stay while they await a new home. Providing them care in a temporary foster home can help save their lives. “Fostering can be a fun, educational activity for families and individuals,” said Petco Foundation president Susanne Kogut. “It can teach children responsibility, while providing the lifesaving care animals need.”
Learn more about how you can help Peak Lab Rescue at the Petco, 172 Grand Hill Place in Holly Springs on Saturday, June 30 from 1:30 – 3:30 p.m. Peak Lab Rescue volunteers and staff will be on hand to accept applications to become a foster family and to accept donations of wish list items.
