One year ago today, I did my first ever transport for Peak Lab Rescue. It actually was my first ever transport for any rescue. I met Scotland Humane Society at the Vass Spay/Neuter Clinic and picked up "Jill". She was a Lab mix that had been with them, unadopted, for many months before coming to Peak Lab Rescue.
I had no idea that transporting was "a thing" or the impact that this would have on my life. Since then, with the help of my tribe, we have helped about 150 dogs find their way into rescue.
I was initially saddened that I am too far away to foster. But I now feel so unbelievably fortunate to be a part of this incredible Peak Lab family! The people that I come into contact with reaffirm daily that the world is very much a mostly good place.
I thank each of you for everything you all do to help save these pups and for being the amazing group that you are!
Transporting dogs from Shelters to Peak Lab Rescue writes the first chapter in their new life. Most of our dogs are located within 1-2 hours of Raleigh.
